Auktia featuresAuction House Website: Your Public House Page on Auktia
Every seller (auction house) on Auktia gets a public seller page at auktia.com/auctioneers/ plus its name, listed in the Seller directory. It works like a ready-made auction house website: your logo, live and upcoming auctions, past results, seller information, buyer's fee (buyer's premium), payment methods, usual pickup details and a Follow button, with the list always current.
What's on an Auktia seller page?
A bidder deciding whether to trust a seller they've never bought from wants the same few answers: who are you, what are you selling, how do I pay, and where do I pick up. The seller page puts all of that on one screen.
- Your logo, shown on your seller page and on each of your auctions.
- Live and upcoming auctions, so the page always lists what's open now.
- Past results: items (lots) offered and items sold.
- Seller information: legal name, address, phone and email.
- Whether winners can pay by card online, your buyer's fee, and the payment methods you take.
- Where and when you usually do pickup.
- A Follow button, so bidders hear about your next auction.
Do you still need your own auction house website?
Not to run an auction. A website you build yourself gives you full control of the look, but somebody has to keep it current, and an out-of-date auction list is the fastest way to lose a bidder. Your Auktia seller page updates itself every time you publish, and it sits in the Seller directory, where bidders browse sellers.
If you already have a website, keep it and link to your seller page from it. The seller page link works as an always-current list of your auctions, so it's the one link to put on your own site, your Facebook page and your email signature.
How do I add and crop my auction house logo?
A clear logo is the quickest way to look established to a bidder who's new to you. Use the cleanest file you have; a square or wide logo both work, since you crop it on screen.
- Go to Settings → Your business.
- Tap Upload your logo and choose the image file.
- Drag, pinch or zoom to crop it so the logo sits well in the frame.
- Pick a background color that suits the logo.
- Check your seller page and one of your auctions to see it in place. To replace it later, tap Change logo.
How do bidders find and follow your business?
Bidders reach your seller page from the Seller directory, from any of your auctions, or from a link you share. When they tap Follow, they get a short email each time you publish a new auction. They can stop at any time with Following ✓ or Unsubscribe in any of your emails.
If you invite your own customers by email, anyone who signs in with the invited address follows you automatically. That turns one email into a standing audience for every auction after it. See following sellers for what bidders get.
Why does the seller page show seller information?
Auktia collects seller information (legal name, address and tax ID) from every seller, as the INFORM Consumers Act asks of online marketplaces. The law took effect June 27, 2023, and covers high-volume third-party sellers: 200 or more sales and $5,000 or more in gross revenue in a continuous 12-month period. Your seller page shows your legal name, address, phone and email, not your tax ID.
For bidders, a real name and address is a trust signal before they bid with a seller they don't know. For questions about your own obligations, check with an attorney. The INFORM Consumers Act guide covers the basics.
