Auktia featuresHow to Promote Your Online Auction: Links, Followers and QR Labels
Auktia gives sellers (auction houses) four built-in ways to promote an online auction: a Copy auction link button to paste into Facebook, a text or an email; an automatic email to your followers when you publish; invitations to your own customer list; and QR item labels (lot labels). Your seller page link doubles as an always-current list of your auctions.
How do I share a link to my auction?
The most useful promotion is the simplest: put a direct link to the auction in front of people who already buy from you, on the day it goes up.
- Publish the auction. Your followers are emailed automatically.
- On My auctions, tap Copy auction link on the auction's tile, or use the same button in the auction's own header.
- Paste the link into a Facebook post, a text or an email, with a line about the items most likely to draw bids.
- Go to My auctions → Your buyers and tap Invite to email your customer list a link to the auction.
- Print QR item labels for the items at your location, so anyone who sees an item can open its item page.
Where should you share your online auction?
Share where your buyers already are. For most regional sellers that means a Facebook post on your business page, a text to regulars, an email to your list, and a link on your own website if you have one. Local buy and sell groups can work too; read each group's rules before posting.
Lead with specific items, not the auction as a whole. A post that names a brand and model gives a buyer a reason to click; a post that says 'great stuff this week' does not. Good item titles help the same way inside Auktia's search, where bidders search by maker, model or keyword.
Share more than once. Posting when the auction opens and again the day items start closing is a common rhythm, since many bidders decide late. For more ideas, see how to get more bidders.
Who gets told automatically when you publish?
Anyone who taps Follow on your seller page gets a short email each time you publish a new auction. You don't have to send anything. Customers you invite by email follow you automatically when they sign in with the invited address.
That means every auction builds the audience for the next. A bidder who finds you through one Facebook post and taps Follow hears about every auction after it, without you posting again.
How do I email my own customer list?
Upload it from My auctions (or Settings → Your business) → Your buyers → Upload your customer list. Excel, CSV or a PDF of the list all work, and only an email column is needed. Match the columns, check the counts, tick the box confirming they're your own customers and you may email them, then tap Add. Nobody is emailed until you press Invite.
Each invitation comes from your business via Auktia, links to your next published auction, and sends replies to your business email. You can invite up to 500 people a press and 2,000 a day, nobody is invited twice in 30 days, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. The list stays private: Auktia never shares it, sells it, or uses it to promote anyone else's auctions. See email invitations for the details.
How do QR labels and your seller page help?
Printable item labels carry a QR code that links each item, and they print on Bluetooth label printers, Zebra printers or any printer. Anyone who sees the item at your location can scan it and land on its item page, with its all-in price and clock. The item labels guide covers setup.
Your seller page link is the one link that never goes stale. Put it on your Facebook page, your website and your email signature, and it always shows your live and upcoming auctions.
