Auktia featuresGet Notified of New Auctions by Following Auction Houses
On Auktia, you get notified of new auctions by following sellers (auction houses). Tap Follow on a seller's page and you get a short email when it lists a new auction. To stop, tap Following ✓ on its page or Unsubscribe in any of its emails. If a seller invited you by email, signing in with that address follows it.
How does following an auction house work?
Regional auction houses run sales on their own schedule: an estate one month, a load of customer returns the next. Following a seller on Auktia means you don't have to keep checking back. When it publishes a new auction, you get a short email about it, and you decide whether to look.
Every seller has a public page on Auktia, and every seller page is listed in the Seller directory. The Follow button is on that page. Following is free, takes one tap, and you can stop just as easily.
How do I follow an auction house to get new-auction emails?
It takes under a minute per seller. Do it for every seller whose auctions you'd drive to.
- Sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Google.
- Open the Seller directory and pick a seller, or go straight to a seller page you already know.
- Look over the page: live and upcoming auctions, past results, buyer's fee (buyer's premium), payment methods and where it usually does pickup.
- Tap Follow. The button then shows Following ✓.
- Watch your inbox. When the seller lists a new auction, you get a short email about it.
- To stop, tap Following ✓ on the seller's page, or Unsubscribe in any of its emails.
What should I check on a seller page before I follow?
A seller page is a quick way to judge whether a seller's auctions suit you. It shows the seller's logo, its live and upcoming auctions, its past results as items (lots) offered and sold, and its seller information: legal name, address, phone and email, as the INFORM Consumers Act asks of online marketplaces.
It also says whether winners can pay by card online, what buyer's fee the seller charges, which payment methods it takes, and where and when it usually does pickup. If a seller's pickups are too far away or at times you can't make, following it may only fill your inbox. More on what these pages show: seller pages.
What if an auction house invited me by email?
Sellers can invite their own customers through Auktia. The email comes from the seller's name followed by via Auktia, links to its next published auction (or its seller page if nothing is published yet), and replies go to the seller's business email.
Sign in with the address the invitation went to and you follow that seller automatically, so its next auction reaches your inbox without another step. Every invitation has a one-click unsubscribe, and if you use it you never hear from that seller through Auktia again. Nobody is invited twice in 30 days.
What are the other ways to hear about auctions?
Following covers new auctions from sellers you already know. These cover the rest, from finding new sellers to keeping up with items you're already chasing.
- Near me: enter a ZIP or share your location to see auctions close by, including sellers you don't follow yet.
- Today's auctions: the home page shows what's running now, and its Getting bids now row shows items two or more people are bidding on.
- Text alerts: add a mobile number for a text the first time you're outbid on an item, and about 3 minutes before it closes if you're not winning. Reply STOP to end them. Setup is on the outbid alerts page.
- Remind me before it closes: set a reminder on any item for 2, 10 or 30 minutes, or an hour, before it ends.
- Device alerts: Settings → Alerts → Alert me on this device when I'm outbid.
- Pickup planner: pick a day and see every auction picking up within your driving range, in pickup-time order.

Can I get a text when a new auction is listed?
