Auktia featuresSearch Online Auctions by Item, Maker, Model or ZIP
On Auktia, you search online auctions with one search box: type a maker, model or keyword, and add a ZIP or address next to it. Then narrow the results by price range, closing time, state and minimum price (reserve), and sort by For you, Closing first, Newest, Price, Nearest or Item number.
How do I search online auctions on Auktia?
Search on Auktia starts with one box and a location. These steps take you from a vague idea to a short list of items (lots) worth bidding on.
- Type a maker, model or keyword into the search box: a brand, a model number, or a plain word like dresser or generator.
- Add a ZIP or address next to it to see what's close to you.
- Filter by price range, closing time, state and minimum price to cut the list down.
- Sort the results: Closing first for items ending soon, Nearest for the closest pickups, or Price, Newest, Item number or For you.
- Open an item to check its photos, description, shipping or pickup, and its full breakdown down to You pay.
- Tap the bookmark to watch it, or place a bid or a max bid.
Which filters and sorts should I use?
Filters decide what's in the list; sorts decide the order. A good habit is to filter hard, then sort by what matters most to you right now.
- Price range: set a ceiling so you only see items you'd actually pay for. Cards show the current bid unless you turn on the All-in pricing switch.
- Closing time: narrow to items ending soon, or later in the week if you want time to look.
- State: keep results to auctions in the state you can reach for pickup.
- Minimum price: every item shows whether its minimum price has been met, and items without one say No minimum.
- Closing first and Nearest: the two sorts for planning a day, showing what ends next and what's on your way.
- Price (high to low or low to high), Newest and Item number: for bargain hunting, catching fresh listings, or reading an auction in item order.
What other ways can I find auctions besides search?
Search works when you know what you want. When you don't, these routes are faster.
- Browse all categories: walk through everything open in one category at a time.
- Today's auctions: the home page lists what's running now.
- Near me: enter a ZIP or share your location to see auctions close by.
- Pickup planner: pick a day and see every auction picking up in range, in pickup-time order.
- Seller directory: a page for every seller (auction house), with its live and upcoming auctions.
- $1 items: many items open at $1, often with no minimum price. The $1 auctions page explains how bidding moves from there.
What search tips find more lots?
Small changes in how you search turn up items other bidders miss.
- Search the maker and the model separately. A listing may name the brand and skip the model number, or the reverse.
- Try more than one word for the same thing: dresser and chest of drawers, mower and lawn mower.
- Check how an item gets to you before you fall for it. Each auction is pickup only, ships at a price shown on each item, or ships with one combined amount added after the auction. Pickup items show distance from you.
- Look up what similar items sold for. Sold items keep their pages with the price, so sold prices give you a ceiling before you bid.
- Watch instead of refreshing. Tap the bookmark and the item rides along at the bottom of every page with its clock.
What does Auktia search cover, and what doesn't it?
Auktia lists timed online auctions from sellers across Texas, starting with the Houston area. There's no live webcast bidding, so every item you find has its own clock and extended bidding (soft close): a bid in the closing window resets that item's clock, so nobody wins on network speed.
Items that didn't sell drop out of search. To hear about new auctions from sellers you like without searching again, follow them and you get an email when they list an auction.
Questions people ask
Is it free to search auctions on Auktia?
Yes. Bidders pay Auktia nothing. You pay only for items you win: the winning bid (hammer price), the seller's buyer's fee (buyer's premium), sales tax and any shipping, all shown on the item page before you bid.
How do I search for auctions near me?
Add your ZIP or address next to the search box and sort by Nearest, or open Near me to see auctions close by. The Pickup planner shows every auction picking up on a chosen day within your driving range.
Can I search for no-reserve auctions?
Yes. Use the minimum price filter. Every item shows whether its minimum price has been met, and items without one say No minimum.
Why does the price on a card differ from the item page total?
Cards show the current bid, matching the Bid button, while the item page shows the full breakdown and the all-in total. Turn on the All-in pricing switch in the header to see every card all-in.
Does Auktia include live auctions?
No. Auktia runs timed online auctions only, with no live webcast. Each item has its own clock, and items close one after another.
