Auktia featuresEmail Your Auction Customers: Sale Invitations on Auktia
Auktia lets sellers (auction houses) email their own customers an invitation to their next auction. Tap Invite on your customer list and each person gets an email from your business via Auktia, linking to your next published auction. Replies go to your business email. Up to 500 send per press and 2,000 a day, each with one-click unsubscribe.
What does an Auktia auction invitation look like?
Each invitation arrives from your business name followed by "via Auktia", so customers see who it's from at a glance. It links to your next published auction, or to your seller page if nothing is published yet, so one tap takes them to your items (lots).
Replies go to your business email, not to Auktia. If a customer writes back to ask about pickup or a particular item, the question lands in your inbox and you answer it the way you always have.
Customers who sign in to Auktia with the invited email follow you automatically. After that, they get a short email whenever you publish a new auction, without you sending another invitation.
How do I email my auction customers on Auktia?
Invitations go to the list you keep under Your buyers, so add that list first.
- Add your customers under My auctions → Your buyers → Upload your customer list. See importing your customer list for file types and columns.
- Publish the auction you want to promote, so the invitation links straight to it.
- Go back to Your buyers and tap Invite on your list.
- Tap Invite again to reach more of the list, up to 500 a press and 2,000 a day. Anyone invited in the last 30 days is left out.
- Watch your business inbox and answer questions about pickup, shipping or specific items as they come in.
How many auction customers can I email at once?
Invitations follow a few fixed rules. Here's how they play out on a larger list: say you have 4,500 customers. On day one, four presses of Invite send 2,000. Day two sends another 2,000, and day three sends the last 500. Everyone is invited within three days, and none of them can be invited again for 30 days.
- Up to 500 invitations each time you press Invite.
- Up to 2,000 invitations a day.
- Nobody is invited twice in 30 days, however many times you press Invite.
- Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
- Anyone who unsubscribes never hears from you through Auktia again.
What are good habits for emailing your own auction customers?
Auktia handles the sending, but the list and the timing are yours. A few habits keep customers glad to hear from you. This is general practice, not legal advice; ask a lawyer about the email rules that apply to your business.
- Email people who gave you their address as customers: past bidders, buyers and people who signed up at your auctions. That's what the tick box at upload confirms.
- Never use a bought or borrowed list. Strangers didn't ask to hear from you, and they won't be glad you wrote.
- Honor every unsubscribe. On Auktia that happens automatically, but keep the same rule in any other email you send.
- Send when there's something worth seeing: a published auction with photos, dates and pickup details, not an auction that's half built.
- Keep the list current by adding customers you meet at pickup or at the counter, so the next invitation reaches them.
What else brings customers back to your auctions?
Invitations are one of several ways to bring people to an auction on Auktia. Every auction has a Copy auction link button for Facebook, texts and email, followers get an email when you publish, and QR item labels link each item. See sharing your auction for the full picture.
Your seller page is the steady home behind every invitation. It lists your live and upcoming auctions, past results and a Follow button, so a customer who misses one email can still find you.
Questions people ask
Who do Auktia invitation emails come from?
They come from your business name followed by "via Auktia", and replies go straight to your business email.
What if I don't have an auction published yet?
The invitation links to your seller page instead, which lists your upcoming auctions and has a Follow button. Publishing first means the email links straight to the auction.
Can I email the same customers about every auction?
Through Invite, nobody is invited twice in 30 days. Customers who follow you, including everyone who signed in with an invited email, get an email each time you publish a new auction.
What happens when a customer unsubscribes?
They never hear from you through Auktia again, and they show in the unsubscribed count if they appear in a list you upload later.
Do invited customers need a password to sign in?
No. Auktia signs people in with a one-time code sent to their email, or with Google. Signing in with the invited email also makes them follow you.
Is there a daily limit on invitations?
Yes: up to 2,000 a day, sent up to 500 at a time each time you press Invite.
